BOSS RV-6 Reverb
As is most often the case, Boss offers simplicity, low prices, and solid but not fantastic sonic quality. With this pedal, Boss shows us their ability to pack a lot into a small package with a surprisingly versatile reverb pedal. All of the most used reverb styles are here along with a few fun extras. Not a bad choice for a player on a budget.
External Control: EXP
Most Boss pedals are simple to understand and simple to use. This is no exception to that rule. The intuitive controls make this pedal a breeze to just plug in and play. Another common reality that we see from Boss is hard-to-read labels. This can cause the user some stress when trying to dial in the right reverb style on a dark stage.
This is quite a versatile pedal, especially for the price. It is nice to see all of the reverb basics plus a few more fun and specialized settings. The delay+reverb setting is a nice touch.
Quality of Effect: 3.5/5
With all of the boutique reverb options out there, it is easy to look down your nose at companies like Boss when it comes to the actual quality of their effects. This pedal is a refreshing reminder that you don’t need to spend a lot of money the get a good sound.
Sadly there are no spaces for presets, but this pedal does a solid job of performing in a live setting. With its simple controls and multitude of choices, you will not be left hanging by this pedal.
