Eventide Mixing Link

Eventide has created one of the best solutions for getting a microphone signal into an effects pedal. Not only does this high quality microphone pre-amp give you the ability to run a microphone through an effects chain, but it gives a staggering number of ways to accomplish that task while giving you a plethora of control options. You can run multiple effects chains, use an external effects unit, utilize multiple inputs and outputs, and much much more. This little pre-amp is not just a signal conditioner, it is a tool that can open up a whole new world of creativity to you.

HornFX Review

Interface:  4.5/5
This machine can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. You can simply use it to go from an XLR to a ¼” connection, or you can use it as a central hub for multiple effects chains, inputs, and methods of control. The mix knob alone opens up a whole new world of expression, and the headphone output can be used to hear your effects in sonically challenging settings. The Mixing Link achieves what few pedals do, in that it packs a potentially overwhelming amount of controls into a small package, while not being overwhelming or confusing. The only thing that it is missing is an expression pedal input to control the mix knob.

Versatility: 4/5
You will be hard pressed to find a more versatile pre-amp. With its many inputs, outputs, dynamic controls, and methods for connecting effects, there is very little that this pedal cannot achieve.

Tonal Reproduction: 4.5/5
There are no tonal manipulation options on this box. That being said, your signal will be unaffected (unless you want to manipulate the gain or boost/cut the volume), as it travels through the Mixing Link. Your original sound will maintain its tonal integrity and your effects will be driven by a pristine recreation of your sound.

Live application: 5/5
This is a near perfect solution for your pre-amp needs. Whether you want to connect a microphone to your stompboxes, use a mobile device to add effects, or have more control of your overall effects mix, this is the right solution for you.
