TC Electronic Mimiq

It is not often we see a pedal put out by a major pedal company that has a rare and singularly specific use, but this stompbox is just that. Simply designed to achieve a doubling effect in a live setting, the Mimiq is not meant to be anything other than a subtle addition of color. If this is an effect you have been wanting, give this pedal a try. It might be just what you need.

HornFX Review

Interface:  4/5
This pedal is as straightforward as it gets. The parameters are simply understood and easy to use. As always with TC pedals, the Tone print adds another level of functionality and sonic maneuverability.

Versatility: 1.5/5
This pedal really only does one thing, and that one thing is not incredibly useful. However the TonePrint options do make this pedal a little more versatile.

Clarity of Effect: 3.5/5
Although the doubling effect is audible and somewhat convincing, it does function too well at some of the settings.

Complexity: Simple

Complexity: Simple

Live application: 2.5/5
If you want to double or triple your sound, this pedal can do that fairly well. At certain settings, the pedal sounds similar to a low quality chorus.

Redefining ADT

MIMIQ DOUBLER couldn’t be further from the crude artificial double tracking devices of yesteryear. Mimiq is a new breed. It’s AUTHENTIC double tracking! When you’re double tracking in the studio, each take is different. There’ll be slight differences in your timing, your attack and your pitch. All of these random factors are what gives the final recording depth and that larger than life feel. Hence we’ve spent countless hours and consumed countless cups of coffee in order to create an innovative algorithm that perfectly captures all of these beautiful elusive nuances, letting you access the magic of the studio directly through your pedalboard.

Game of Clones

MIMIQ DOUBLER makes you the master of puppets, letting you pull the strings of up to three clones of yourself. And when you say “ROCK!”, they ask “How Hard!?”. Make ‘em follow your lead with razor sharp precision, or let them hang back a little for a more loose and groovy feel. Heck, you can even pour some imaginary beer on them for extremely out-of-sync riffin’ – just to test your drummer’s sanity.
