$0.00

With this pedal, Alexander endeavored to bring back to life three classic delay units. They have succeeded wonderfully in this simple and well laid out pedal. All three of these analog delays are characterized by a dark, subdued tone that will give you a lush, but not overwhelming set of delays. So, as Alexander says when writing about the Amnesia, “Strap in -- it’s about to get murky.”

Complexity: Medium

Interface:  3.5/5
This pedal has a simple mode selection system and a dual-function modulation knob that adds nicely to its usability without adding clutter and confusion.

Versatility: 2.5/5
Although this pedal does have three styles of delay and two modulation effects, all of the delays are, by design, very dark, almost murky at times. This can be used to your advantage, but if a brighter and cleaner delays is called for, you would be out of luck.

Tonal Reproduction: 3.5/5
The sounds produced from this pedal are quite pretty. The dark warmth that characterizes its delays make it a wonderful pedal in certain contexts. It will not however give you a clear, exact reproduction of your sound.

Live application: 3/5
This pedal can give you nice, dark, effected delays, but not much more than that. There are no presets or a tap tempo available, so you are rather limited in a live setting.

TIME - adjust the delay time from 10ms to 900ms.
REPEAT - controls the feedback of the delay.
MOD - Adds a luscious modulation to the delay. At 12 o’clock there is no modulation. Clockwise adds a slow chorus and counter-clockwise adds a fast vibrato.
MIX - Controls the blend between fully dry (clean) and fully wet (repeat only) echo sound. 12 o’clock is an equal mix of clean and echo.
*Hint: The Mod knob works even when the delay time turned all the way down, allowing the Amnesia to function as an analog-flavored chorus pedal.

Mode Toggle:
MN3005
- Warm repeats with excellent fidelity and mild “bucket loss” where each of the delay repeats becomes a bit softer and more diffuse.
SAD4096 - A very distinct tone where longer delay times have a pronounced distortion character. [This mode will sound like a spaceship a bit sooner than the others.]
MN3208 - Audibly darker tone with soft and super murky repeats. Perfect for ambient pads and washes if you use your volume knob right.

Power Supply:
The Amnesia requires a 9V DC power supply with a 2.1mm pin, center negative.  The Amnesia is not designed to be powered on supplies higher than 9V and does not use a battery.  The Amnesia should work fine on a multi-pedal "daisy chain" connector, but if you encounter excessive noise or hum try a separate power supply.  The Amnesia requires approx. 60mA.
