Wampler Tape Echo V2

For those of you who loved version one of this pedal, you will go crazy for V2. For those of you who were disappointed with version one, you will be more pleased with this one. This is definitely an improvement. The same classic tape delay sound is fitted with a more precise set of rhythmic controls. This addition amps up this pedal’s functionality considerably.

Complexity: Medium

Interface:  3.5
Like its predecessor, this pedal has an easy and intuitive layout. The high quality of its interface is further improved by the addition of the tap tempo subdivisions.

Versatility: 3/5
The only difference between this pedal and its older brother is the addition of the tap tempo options. This does serve to enhance its versatility just a bit.

Tonal Reproduction: 3/5
The tone reproduction is fairly good and can be slightly manipulated. The tape reel effects sound nice, but this pedal is not nearly as capable of pristine tone reproduction as other pedals.

Live application: 3.5/5
This pedal is a great live solution for someone looking for a simple, easily manipulable delay pedal. It allows you to attain greater rhythmic specificity and range with the tap subdivisions. The tape wobble feature works quite well, if that is the sound you are after. Its only setbacks are its lack of presets and lack of other delay types.
