Earthquaker Afterneath

Earthquaker Afterneath

$0.00

As with most earthquaker pedals, the only thing better may be their official description. We cannot do any better explaining this pedal, so here is what Earthquaker has to say: “The Afterneath sounds a lot like it looks – a wizard in a cave in a box. You are the wizard – or sorceress, if you prefer – and the cave is your instrument’s signal, vast, expansive, and magical.”

Complexity: Simple

Interface:  3/5
The pedal is laid out fairly simply. The controls take some time to get used to, but once you are familiar with each knob’s function, you will really enjoy exploring some of the sounds this pedal can create.

Versatility: 2.5/5
Although this pedal is more specifically geared toward ambient sounds, there are a large amount of textures and colors that can be achieved. This might not be a great pedal for use in a pop setting or at a regular bar gig, but if you have some room to explore sonically, this is a great addition to your setup.

Quality of Effect: 4.5/5
There are so many lush and gorgeous sounds that this pedal can make. If the word ambient is anywhere in your musical lexicon, then this pedal will be a wonderful addition to your effects chain.

Live application: 3/5
If you are looking to add lush pads of sound, or long echoing spacey environments to your playing, this is a fantastic pedal to use. Not well suited for basic reverb applications. Its lack of presets can be somewhat of a hindrance as well.

Power
Our pedals take a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise. Do not run at higher voltages!
Current draw is 65 mA.
