The Strymon engineers have put together a flanger meant to bring the best of the classic flangers into the future. The classic sounds are incredibly manipulable, especially with the remarkable amount of control an expression pedal can give you. If you have any flanger currently in your effects chain, or want to add one to your set up, try this pedal. The Orbit certainly lives up to the stellar Strymon reputation.

Although this pedal has a larger than average and beautiful array sounds, its capabilities are limited to flange. Within the flange genre, this pedal can do a lot more than most.

Not only does the preset give you options without having to twist knobs, but this pedal’s large range of flange sounds can provide one’s choice of sounds to best suit their needs. This is a very practical pedal to use. That is the in part because the usual oscillating whistle that is present when using a microphone with a flanger is much quieter than most. This is true even with the blend knob buried at full.
