Walrus Voyager

With this, their low-gain drive pedal, Walrus has made simplicity work incredibly well. Where some less complex drive pedals leave the user pining for more tonal control, this pedal puts out a clean and beautiful tone uncommon in drive pedals of this type. Although it is not perfect, what this pedal lacks in manipulability, it certainly makes up for with tinal quality.

HornFX Review

Interface:  2.5/5
This simple setup does not take too much away from the pedal. The tone knob does give you some nice control over your sound, but it does leave a little to be desired on the EQ tweaking front.

Versatility: 2.5/5
Intensity is not this pedal’s game. The voyager can do some really beautiful, clean, and subtle driving, and can give you a bit of hair or crunch. Sadly it will not get you to the more extreme ends of overdrive.

Tone Reproduction: 4/5
The Voyager gives you a clean and wonderful reproduction of your sound. It brings a little sparkle and pleasant edge to your tone at higher levels of gain.

Live application: 4/5
For a fantastic sounding overdrive pedal to give you some push and some edge, and maybe even the beginning stages of distortion, look no further. This pedal sounds great throughout its various levels of gain and can give you that bit of edge you need.

Product Information

The Voyager is a gain/preamp overdrive that boasts a full spectrum of tone from any setting on its simple set of controls. From its lowest to highest settings, the Voyager provides a uniquely superb amount of clarity to any style of playing. At lower gain settings, it brightens the signal and adds clarity to each note played. With the gain turned up, the Voyager transforms into a thick overdrive, providing depth to chorded playing while retaining the clarity needed to break through on solos. Has True Bypass switching.
